I was very concerned with the children's wellbeing. They had no idea of the severity of their actions today.
"Sit down, have a cookie." I looked them both deeply in the eyes, they were good kids. But that was the problem they were just kids. "What you did today was unacceptable."
"I know, you told me to never get into a fight. I am sorry, I don't know what came over me."
"No, you don't understand. I am not mad at you. What you did today will likely be the beginning of a serious of terrible things. Do you realize that you put yourselves in danger? The whole world will soon know who you are and will be after you. Are you prepared to face the consequences of your actions?"
Before they could respond, Victor knocked on the door. I wondered why it had taken him so long, but then again we weren't exactly on the friendliest of terms. I left the two children to think while I went to the door.
"What reason do you have to be here. . .was Johnson involved in the fight as well?" He looked utterly confused so I just invited him in for cookies as well. I pretended not to see his "companion."
"Children, I trust you've met Victor."
"Yeah, hi, whatever. I just need to borrow some clean clothes and perhaps use your bath."
He was a mess, so I didn't hesitate, "Yes, of course. I will find you something suitable to wear. We will be talking about this later," then I whispered, "but not in front of the children." He nodded as I led him out of the room.
Ivar and Rain sat silently for a very long, neither of them capable of comprehending the magnitude of the situation. Lucky for them, Kindra had blessed M.B. and I as well. Our sole duty was to be watchers over the children.
