Rain

After several hours, Ivar decided to go home. That's what he said, but I expect his mother wanted to have some words with him. Shortly after he left, Mr. Taber got up to leave as well. He muttered something about pleasantries, and thanked us for the milk, as well as putting up with his odd behavior. Seemed he had an imaginary friend of some sort. When he opened the door to leave, Johnson greeted him with his hand in the air about to knock.

"Gosh, that was. . .quick, like ESP. Wondering where you went. The nurses said someone checked you out early this afternoon." he pushed past his dad and came into the kitchen. "hey, Ray. heard you got expelled? bummer! Mrs. Landon, these are awesome as usual."

Mr. Taber was about to protest, but John just kept talking. "that was some seriously weird stuff you guys did today. I assume your mom's up to speed? All that because the guy dumped my lunch on me. you are my hero, babe. Uh, I mean Brit." He got a few glares for letting that one slip. "so what did I miss?"

"Mr. Taber, may I?" My mom asked his dad.

"wait. . ." it suddenly clicked, she said he was there too, in the hospital that day. "I don't know if he's ready yet."

"Ready for what?" he put his hands in the air to shrug, and something weird happened. "Whoa! Is it just me, or did those glasses just fall over when I put my hands up?"

"I think it's time he knew the truth, whether he's ready or not. I would rather he knew, that way he won't get caught off guard when they come looking for us."

We (Victor, John, and I)all stopped dead in our tracks, "who's coming?"

My mother didn't respond, she just shook her head and started to tell John everything. As she told him he just stared at her, frozen in time, milk running down his chin with a half chewed cookie in his mouth.

"Magic?" he said, barely audible.

"Nonsense!" Victor suddenly shouted as he stormed out of the room, dragging John with him.

  1. well, you changed your post... not quite sure how to compensate.
my post worked before but now. Pleas advise.

I like the post because it presents Victors moral dilemma about his family.
