I came storming into the house as that crazy Victor was stumbling out. "You've got some serious explaining to do, young lady!" a little embarrassed when I noticed John, "Look, you better go now, or I swear I'll kill you too!" Without hesitation John jumped from the table and ran out the door after his father.

"Honey, before you blow a gasket, let me remind you to be careful about what you say. When you said 'I'll kill you too' who else were you referring to?"

"Uh, that cookie!" I had to think fast, I did not want to be bound to kill my own child. "Now look, Rain, what you did today was unacceptable, no worse than that. It was. . ." my mind was drawing a blank, "Just don't do it again. Promise me you will be more careful. Promise!"

"Honey, you can't make her promise."

"It's ok, mom. I promise."

"just know, that if you break your promises you will be sorry, and not because of guilt. Something much worse." my mom stated.

"What? what will happen?" I shouted when she didn't finish.

"We don't know. The woman fled before she could tell us. Back to what I was saying, and stop distracting me." he shot an annoyed glance at my mom. "What do you think your punishment should be? No, let me. Since you suddenly have all this free time, you will be spending it helping us with out research. The police are watching us very carefully these days. They think we're some kind of child molesters or something. We're not, trust me. I promise neither of us ever have or ever will do something like that. (Man, I am starting to hate these shock waves.) We made a promise to protect you children to the best of our ability, as long as you use your powers for good. Promise us you will only use your power for good, power corrupts even the purest of heart. I'll let you think about it. Oh, and so we don't look like bad parents, you will also be taking over all of the house work for the next couple of weeks. Now go to your room so I can talk with your mother."
