Sun and Rain

I (Rain) was outside helping my mom with some gardening when Brindee flew by. "So, have you decided anything? You can't leave me hanging like this."

"What's your problem? I'm not mad at my parents anymore, in fact I can't remember why I was even mad in the first place."

"Come on, I am so bored! I need something to do."

"Why don't you go join a hive or something? I'm busy."

"Fine, if you won't do anything, I will!" With that, she flew over to where my mom was kneeling over some flowers. It was the perfect target. Brindee was headed straight for her.

"Mom, watch ou-" I jumped towards her trying to block the irritating little cheerleader. "OW!" She flew right into my forehead.

"I'm not dead! HA HA HA! I am invincible! Sweet!" She then flew off towards our neighbor's house.

"What's wron-oh dear, that's going to be tender for a few days." She said noticing the swelling pink bump on my forehead.

"Mom, one of those chosen babies turned into a bumble bee and she was trying to kill you-oh, I don't feel so well." everything suddenly went dark.

--Brindee in flight--

I whizzed through the trees, I had never felt so alive! Well, actually, I was starting to feel a little tired. I decided to stop on a small dandelion to rest when suddenly something huge and metal came crashing to the ground. I was about to go investigate when two boys ran up behind me.

"We're too late! He got away!"

"Don't worry, we know where to find him. He can't hide forever. But we need more people."

I changed back into my human form, and recognized one of the boys to be Mathis an old boyfriend of mine. "Hey boys, did I hear you needed some backup?" They turned around quickly.

"Where did you come from?"

"I was here the whole time, sweetie, you just couldn't see me because I was a bee."

"A bee? what kind of lame power is that?" the other boy scoffed, "thanks but no thanks." He started to turn away and was getting ready to pursue the metal boy.

"Are you allergic to bees? Did you know there is a 1 in 3 chance of being allergic to bees? Those are pretty good odds. The best part is that I don't die when I sting people."

"Hmm, that is interesting. Well, ok. I guess you can come along. But you have to keep up."

"I thought you'd see it my way." She grinned and then kissed Alex on the cheek, "there's more where that came from."

--meanwhile in the hospital--
"Well how was I supposed to know I was allergic to bees too?"

"It's ok, it's the thought that counts." Sun gently stroked Rain's hair. Rain closed her eyes, and Sun had to fight back the tears as she looked around the room. She hadn't seen her baby hooked up to so many machines since she was a preemie.
