The Vision

Jared was the speaker no other person was visibly present except as he spoke the events passed all around him.

"My ancestor stood on the precipice of choosing whether or not his clan would surrender to be laborers."

Jared stood on a mountain top overlooking a valley filled with hundreds of thousands of laborers. The view shifted to the midst of them and a man was beating the workers. They were slaves and they were magic users.

"This was why the first war began, but we were outnumbered and betrayed. My ancestor was the traitor, he completely destroyed his brethren and then the humans rose up against him. He had been the most fascinated by humans then any of his kin. He had even married a human, in secret because it was forbidden and they had a child. That child was the perfect child for growing up in that era, he had given it the memory of all there people and she became a great leader amongst the humans who never learned of her magical powers."

The view shifted to a bed and a woman laying in it, she looked very old. many people surrounded the bed.

"Her children were, of course, at her bed when she finally died at the age of nearly nine hundred years. Her children had, except one whose magic surpassed even her father, never manifested powers. It was her doing that they had not come forth, and after her death magic exploded all over the world and the secret organization that hunts us today, was formed at this time. They were greatly ill-prepared to fight, many simply denied their powers and renounced them, but the organization didn't care. They realized that it carried over into their children, even if they mixed with humans."

Wars, bloodshed and pain flashed through the minds of all who saw this. Finally what looked from the outside as peace came to view. Magic users were in chains again, mining and working themselves to death. With every death the rest became stronger, but the pain from the death became stronger.

"Finally only a handful remained, having been enslaved for many generations they barely knew what they were. They used there magic in secret and put together their shattered memories and finally got the entire picture and knew that they would be worked into extinction if they let it."

"In the generation they had been enslaved many of the worlds nations had become more civilized and had even forgotten about their magic, when they offered money to be freed they were allowed to be free. But that organization still existed and heard of this. They had begun to spread on a large scale when they began to be killed in the night or in ambush. My mother and father were just children when this was occurring and ironically, would never have met were it not for the destruction. They banded together, much like we have and began to fight for their lives, but they didn't have the skills necessary to survive. They would kill many every time they fought but every friend they lost meant they lost a great deal."

The view shifted to a prison and two different cells with a man and woman in each

"My parents finally saw the only option was to create a child, a single being who would have all the knowledge from the beginning, for that knowledge is strength. They both knew that creating me in the way they did would cost both their lives, in one way or another. My father died first, knowing she'd have to get out or they'd just kill me as a baby. But there was a problem, my mother found out upon my birth that they hadn't calculated for twins. I was not born alone, though I was first. There was one thing my mother had imprinted in my mind that is stronger than anything and I cannot fight it."

The pause was evident and it was obvious that everyone listening was holding their breath.

"She imprinted the need to be free and I do not wish to resist it. So why should we fight?"

The reach of his power spread over the entire world.

"We fight to be free! So find those like you in your area, find them and protect each other. If you are near me find me or I'll find you. We can't fight alone."

The vision faded but the words did not.
