Brindee

I was sitting in my quarters waiting for Deothanos' order. Just when I was about to give up hope, there was a knock on the door. He entered shortly after and briefly stated, "It's time."

He left and my adrenaline started pumping. I'd been training for this day for a year. I just hoped Mathis wasn't training as well. I concentrated really hard until I located his position in the building. He had just released the pure bred to her quarters.

In an instant I was zooming down the hall towards him. I started out as a single bee but grew into a swarm as I gained momentum.

He started to scream, which only exhilarated my thirst. I was rapidly gaining speed as he dodged around corners and ducked down hallways. He was no match for me and he knew it, I just wished he would have put up more of a fight.

He ran into a dead end and covered his eyes with his arms as he sank to the floor, "have mercy on me!" he whimpered. It was really pathetic.

I stung him over and over again as my anger took over. After a few moments I realized what was happening and completely lost it. I shrank back into my human form and ran back to my quarters with tears streaming down my face. I had never imagined I was capable of something so evil.

The door closest to Mathis opened and he was pulled inside. They shut the door behind them. Everyone continued as if nothing had even happened.

Rachel

They were taking me to the facility I wanted them to, just as planned. They put me in something they called Sector A and said Deothanos would be down to see me shortly. Well I wasn't about to wait for him. I became a shadow and left immediately, I jumped from one guard's shadow to the next. They didn't notice I was gone for a good while.

I was hoping to see Allison but I guess her power was not dangerous and she was probably in a less restrictive area. I wandered the halls looking in the medical area, I was assuming they'd have to keep him unconscious to contain him. I walked into one room and I saw Rain on a table tied down. No one was in the room and it didn't look like they'd done anything yet. Must have been getting prepped.

I let down my invisibility and untied her. She looked quite relieved to see me to say the least. I undid her gag last, mostly because she didn't need it out for me to get her our of there if I had to leave in a hurry.

"Rachel I need to talk to somebody, please," She pleaded. She looked older, more experienced than I. This last year weighed heavily on everyone it seemed.

I just smiled at her, "We'll have plenty of time to catch up we just need to get you out of here and find Jared, then we'll go find Kindra and break out of this place."

"I'm pregnant," She looked down as if she had something to be ashamed of. She was still seated on the operation table.

Honestly I couldn't blame her much because I knew instantly the only person who could have been the father. I put a hand under her chin and pulled her to look up at me.

"He must be an amazing man for you to have found him worthy," I tried cheering her up. "Come on the only reason Deothanos isn't up here with you I'm guessing is because he's going to see me. Once he realizes I'm gone the game will be over."

We hurried through the halls and finally found the room with Jared safely inside. I shadow stepped inside and gently placed a hand on his face. He stirred at my presence but he was hooked up to a machine that we designed to keep him unconscious.

I disconnected it and heard Rain yell something through the door. We were out of time. I appeared on the other side of the door and waved goodbye to the guards as I brought Rain to the realm I had called home for nearly a year.

"Take my hand Rain," I had a tear forming on my face. "We have to leave."

"But Jared is still in there," Rain protested.

I turned away, "I know but if the guards know we are here it means Deothanos will be here momentarily. We are safe for a little while in the shadow world but not forever." We could see the guards walking around and through us trying to figure out where we'd gone. I was openly crying now, "He knew the risks when he let them capture him. But now that I know where this base is I can come back any time, day or night and they will never be the wiser."

Rain took my hand, "Let's go then."

I began jumping from place to place, down the halls and finally out into the open air. It was much more draining then I had thought it would be taking a second person with me. Then again it's not the distance of shadow stepping that draining me but the number. I can jump two feet or two miles and it drains just as much and I hadn't rested since that encounter.

"Come on I know a base nearby that was never compromised by the enemy. Jared and I used it just a week ago," I said to Rain. "We'll walk but it's not far." I then remembered something, "If you can't make it I'll either carry you or make the effort to shadow step, alright?"

Rain smiled and we walked to the base.

MB

(MB has been brainwashed and is very delusional. Nothing about in this post Rain and Johnson is true)

Ever since Sunshine's death I had been different. I needed to avenge her death, and the more I worked with Victor the more my anger kindled. How could he be so optimistic? Our children had run off together and betrayed us. But perhaps he wasn't privy to such information.

Alex had told me all about it. At first I didn't believe him, but after he showed me the survey lance of her breaking out of the facility slaughtering people on her way I had to believe it. They had tried to catch her and Johnson on several occasions but every time ended with a bloodbath. Johnson and Rain just laughed as if they we're killing daisies.

They slaughters had become increasingly gory as the year passed. They had even been caught fornicating in a chapel.

It was disgusting! And now she was carrying his spawn.

I wanted nothing to do with either of them. My main focus was righting the wrongs they had done and saving the planet from more evil magic users.

I had agreed to surrender my powers to Alex. They were evil, I didn't want to be cursed with them any longer.

Rain

We'd been running for a year, but Alex finally caught up with us in Brazil. A lot of things had changed in that year, namely Sterling and my relationship with him. We weren't exactly upstanding citizens. Sterling's powers weren't what they used to be, they weren't as powerful but he could now alter earth alloys.

With his power we were able to easily get money from ATMs and with my power we could easily hide from the police.

As we got further and further from the life we knew, we got closer to each other. We decided to get fake ID's and get married in Vegas on our way out of the country. We figured if we left the country it would be harder for them to find us. We tried to use our magic as little as possible.

It was lucky that Jared had started changing Sterling's appearance because he looked very different than he had the first time I saw him. He looked about 20 now and was rugged and handsome.

I had started to get weak recently, because I was hiding a secret from him. I was carrying his child. I knew I couldn't tell anyone because they would take it away from us.

I had let my guard down for a second so I could get some fruit to suppress my appetite. The people who owned the tree called the police and I was captured. When they brought me into their station they recognized me from a flier sent by the US government and contacted Alex immediately.

Luckily, Sterling wasn't with me and remained free.

--In the USA holding facility--

"My, this is a surprise." Alex grinned after the doctors had examined me, "so who is the father, you tramp?"

"I'd rather die than tell you!"

"Oh, someone special, I presume. Well, he will be a perfect addition to our collection."

"Yes indeed." Deothanos stepped from the shadows, "you've done enough, boy, leave me now." after Alex and the doctor left he continued, "of course you realize you can't have this baby."

"You slime! You wouldn't dare!"

"Oh, wouldn't I? I can't have another heir to my throne running around, now can I?"

my eyes went wide. "well, who else's baby would you be caring. But enough about that, there's someone I want you to meet."

He slid the door open slowly revealing my father. "Dad?"

"You're dead to me." he growled, "Do you expect me to come crawling back to you after you betrayed me?"

"What? What's going on?"

"Don't play dumb with me!" he yelled, "I don't have to listen to this, I'm leaving. You can live your sinful life without me!"

Jessica

We had made it unnoticed most of the way across town and into an abandoned warehouse that was supposed to be the rendesvous point were we supposed to hide. Something seemed different about this city in general. Ivar insisted he go in alone first and check in out.

I just sat down on a rock and looked at Johnson, in the light we had here I noticed he looked different somehow. I wasn't sure exactly what it was but he looked older. Then again I hadn't seen him in quite a while he could have just grown up a bit. He noticed me looking at him and smiled slightly.

He slowly made his way over to me and sat down beside me, "So Jessica, do you want to go out sometime and get something to eat?" He said it awkwardly and I could tell he was nervous.

I tried to let him down easy, "I'm sorry Johnson, Ivar and I got back together about a month ago. So no I don't think that would be a good idea."

I felt awful doing it he was totally crushed and I could tell, I wasn't quite sure why. Last time I'd seen him he'd had a thing for Rain. A dark figure approached and I shot to my feet and got ready to fight.

It was a woman carrying a man over her shoulder, she resembled Cali.

"Who are you?" I demanded. "Tell me quickly or I'll burn you."

"You don't recognize me?" She looked puzzled for a moment and then she appeared to realize something. "Oh right. It's me, Kindra."

"Kindra is a little girl," I insisted. "You are much closer to my age."

I was about to attack when she raised a hand, "Wait I can prove it. You are Jessica, your power is fire and you are..." She looked at Johnson and paused as if trying to appraise him like a merchant would appraise a piece of merchandise. She gently put the other man down and walked closer to Johnson. "Your power makes it difficult to see you Johnson Taber. Your father is Victor right?"

Johnson was entranced by her, I must say even I was a little jealous now that I got a better look at her. He smiled weakly, his upset of being crushed by me passing in a moment and I rolled my eyes.

She nodded, "Mist, you have control of mist but there is something else, you gave part of your powers away. To your father? He wanted to keep you safe from the people he works for."

Johnson started to get a little upset but she placed a hand on his lips and said, "Everything your father has ever done has been for you, whether or not you agree with his choices he has thought it in your best interest. My father would disagree but he is a good man just on a confused and jumbled path."

Ivar walked out of the building and I had to jump in the way to stop him from attacking Kindra.

"It's Kindra," I told him. He didn't look convinced and I continued, "She knows all about Johnson. Things I didn't even know and I doubt you knew. That was one of the powers she was just breaking into last we saw her but to be on this level..."

"You mean you haven't been here this whole time?" She asked. "Where have you been?"

"We were taken to the past after the attack and brought back," Ivar said. "How long have we been missing?"

"A year," She shook her head. "I've had to do things, be something I'm not proud of. You left me in prison for a full year. Six months of it I spent in total isolation. Why didn't you come get me sooner!"

She was looking control of her emotions and Johnson motioned inside, "If it's clear we should get inside."

I put my arm around Kindra and whispered gently in her ear, "We just got back tonight Kindra. We didn't even know you'd been captured until you just told us."

She just cried on my shoulder, I guided her inside and found a bed for her and let her cry herself to sleep on my shoulder. I laid her head down on the pillow and walked out into the main area.

Ivar and Johnson were waiting for me. Ivar was evidently taking charge, "The facility is intact, the defenses are intact, but there in no food. By the general look of the place I say someone was living here and left in a hurry, probably so the place wouldn't be discovered. It was fairly recent too."

Johnson nodded, "I'll stay here and watch over them, you to go find food and bring it back. They'll wake up hungry if they've been in prison. That food probably isn't very good."

I shook my head, "I don't know how much has changed Johnson, we can't go out. Yours is the only face they aren't looking for. Besides remember what Kindra said? Your power makes it hard to see you, that goes for their searchers as well. If you did it on purpose I'm sure you would be invisible."

He looked uncertain but finally shrugged, "Whatever. If I don't come back don't blame me."

Ivar shook his head, "I'll go with him."

"Then that leaves me to tidy things up while you are gone I guess," I sighed. I really didn't want to clean but my face really would be known, the most wanted list isn't something that goes away in a year.

Johnson a little older

A blaze of techni-colored swirled around Johnson as he noticed some of his group didn't make it, he tried to let go but an inexplicable pain ran through him as his body wasn't as in tune with the rest of the group. His mind raced and memories that weren't his seemed to flood into his head. and his body rippled with age.

when the chaos stoped Johnson was lying on the floor sizling and a little diffrent.

Kindra

Kindra was sitting with Zach at their normal table, "So you are sure your contact is right and my father was captured a few days ago?"

He nodded, "What about our deal? You didn't forget did you?"

"Just make sure your contact has you in interrogation in ten minutes and keeps you there for at least twenty more and don't tell him why," I demanded. "I better go show them I'm a good girl and won't fight during the transfer."

Zach laughed at the thought and I sauntered off to get checked out and restrained. After fifteen minutes of checking, double checking and triple checking the restraints they placed on my arms, legs and even one on my neck, they decided it was secure and let me into the elevator that would take me up and out to the corridor separating the two areas.

I was being transferred to the female area even though I was extremely dangerous, I guess they figured I get in less fights over here but I would doubt that. About half way through I saw the hallway I need to find. One of them was holding a chain that led to my neck.

I flexed my right arm against the shackles, they were loose just like Zach said. So that meant one of those who had put the restrains on me was his contact. That really didn't matter at the moment. I was barely able to get my right arm out without them noticing it was free.

"Sorry I got a charlie horse," I groaned. "Just a sec please."

They stopped and the leash on my neck went slightly slack. I quickly located Zach and he was a few floors down, back in the mist. That's okay, they won't expect me to go down. I quickly grabbed the leash and ripped it from the man's hands. Then I went invisible and ducked inside a room. Alarms went off immediately. Using my free arm I got the chains off and the collar and made my way down to where Zach was. It had been less than a day since I tried to escape and the camera hadn't been fixed in that room yet. Zach was in that room.

I opened the door and said, "Come on let's go."

He looked around, "Kindra? You can go invisible too?"

"I can do a lot of things now let's get out of here," I replied. "Come on."

I led him by the arm through the facility, avoiding the people that were using cameras to try and find us. Getting out with him was a lot harder than it would have been alone. We made it out of the mist safely.

"Now then," I came visible. "Time for you to put your power to use and get us past the security field."

"The what?" He stammered. "That sounds bad."

"Not really," I shrugged. "It's basically just like the guns they have except it's surrounding the facility like a giant fence. You can get through it."

"I'm not sure I can," He murmured.

"You get us out of here or you get to deal with Cali," I said pointing.

"I guess I can try and run fast enough for that," He stammered. "But don't get mad at me if you get zapped."

I shrugged, "And if you fall unconscious I'll carry you to safety."

He took a deep breath and put his arm around my waist and lifted me up, "Here goes."

Cali was very close and then suddenly we were on the other side of the security fence. He had, as I suspected, fallen unconscious. I looked up at the post that helped the field to form and blew a kiss at the camera pointed at us. I picked him up and ran into the night intent on finding the closest allies I could sense, Ivar and Jessica.
